Terms of Use

Effective October 31, 2026. These terms cover grants.commonrise.co and the CommonRise Grants section of my.commonrise.co, run by CommonRise Collective and/or its affiliates (“CommonRise,” “we”).

Our role

CommonRise provides education, information, templates and organization to help you prepare your own grant applications, registrations and filings. You provide the information. You review and approve every section. You sign and submit or file it yourself. We are not a law firm, an accounting firm or a government agency. We don’t give legal or tax advice, and we don’t represent you before any funder or agency.

No guarantee

We help you find grants and prepare applications. We do not and cannot guarantee that any grant, loan or other funding will be awarded. Funders make every decision.

AI assistance is educational

Some tools use artificial intelligence to suggest, draft, review or summarize content. AI output is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It can be incomplete, outdated or wrong. It is not legal, tax, financial or professional advice.

You review and you decide

You are the applicant. You are responsible for reviewing, correcting and approving everything before you use it or submit it, including facts, numbers, budgets and eligibility. You are responsible for following each funder’s rules, including any rules about the use of AI, and for meeting deadlines.

Accuracy

You agree that the information you provide and submit is true and complete to the best of your knowledge. False statements on government applications can carry serious penalties.

Scores

Any fit score, score or grade shows how well a grant’s stated rules and focus line up with your answers, or how fully a draft covers a funder’s stated requirements. It does not predict whether you will be funded.

Government services are free

SAM.gov, Login.gov, Grants.gov and EINs are free from the government, and you can register yourself. CommonRise charges only for hands-on help and is not affiliated with SAM.gov, the IRS or any government agency. We never ask for your passwords and never collect bank account numbers.

Fees and refunds

Our fees are flat, hourly or monthly, and are agreed before work starts. We never charge a percentage of a grant award, and fees never depend on whether a grant is awarded. Monthly plans can be cancelled any time in your account and run to the end of the paid month. Done-for-you work is refundable in full if cancelled before kickoff; after kickoff the first half is earned, and if we decide together that a grant is a no-go, any second payment is refunded. Government fees are paid by you directly to the agency.

Your account

Keep your login private. We may suspend accounts used for fraud or abuse. You can ask us to close your account any time.

Limits

To the extent the law allows, CommonRise is not liable for lost funding, missed deadlines or decisions made by funders, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us for the service involved in the last 12 months.
